Well, I decided I needed to make a replacement for Morrt, who was lost in US MAIL on his way to the Stitch Wars Show in Florida at Bird & Bear Gallery. I'm really still hoping against hope that he'll still make it there before the 18th, but assuming he will not, I went ahead and made a green version, his brother, Morrten...
I found some really super soft pink fur with brown tips, and it called out to be a monkey...not sure why he's called Billy.He's super floppy and feels sooo nice!
I felt that itch to make a mouse. When I get it I have to scratch it. So here is Goldie....made of yellow mohair with needle felted arms, legs and tail....and glass google eyes.
I'll be sending Morrt off to the Bear and Bird Gallery tomorrow to be in the Stitch Wars show there. We had a glass of bourbon together, and these are some parting shots:
Finished my Worrt...maybe I'll call him Morrt, He's a sweet little guy...though he's actually one of the biggest creatures I've ever made. He's very huggable...
I've been working on this guy for a while, he's my contribution to the Stitch Wars show. I've sewn a fur shell for him, and stuffed him solid with polyester stuffing that is half-needle felted. Then I covered the stuffing with wool roving and sculpted him by needling. He's got big glass taxidermy eyes, and his fingers and arms are all wired to bend and pose. So are his feelers.

I'm going to be in the Stitch Wars show in July at Bear & Bird Gallery in Florida. I'm really excited because it should be a fantastic show of Star Wars inspired stitchery...
